Denise Lose M.F.A.
Denise Lose began her Ballet and Modern Dance training in 1983 under the direction of Lynn Winslow. She received numerous scholarships to study with prestigious schools around the country and trained with Boston Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet and Sarasota Ballet.
Ms. Lose holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master of Fine Arts in the School of Visual Arts and Dance from Florida State University, which is national ranked in the top two for the Ballet and Modern Dance genres.
Ms. Lose had the privilege to work one on one with Suzanne Farrell, former principal dancer with The New York City Ballet and one of George Balanchine’s most celebrated muses. Ms. Farrell was named, Ballerina of the Century as featured on www.Achievement.org.
Ms. Lose considers working with Ms. Farrell one of her highest honors as Ms. Farrell is world-renowned and an icon in the ballet genre. Ms. Lose was personally selected to perform in one of George Balanchine’s last choreographic works: "Elegie" while working with Ms. Farrell.
Ms. Lose has also worked with such greats as Anjali Austin (Dance Theatre of Harlem), Sheila Humphreys (Royal Ballet), Richard Sais (National Ballet of Canada), Helen Earl (The Joffery Ballet), Sabirjan Yapparov (Odessa State Opera), Myra Woodruff (Martha Graham Dance Company), Anthony Morgan (Martha Graham Dance Company),Jowole Willa JoZollar (Urban Bush Woman), Doug Varone (Doug Varone and Dancers), Gerri Houlihan (Lars Lubovich Dance Company), Jack Clark (Denishawn Repertory Dancers of New Jersey), Douglas Corbin on Rhythmic Analysis. Music and Choreography, Patty Phillips (Co-Chairperson FSU Department of Dance), Nancy Smith Fichter (Chairperson FSU Department of Dance).
The curriculum that Ms. Lose studied at FSU among others includes The Theory and Practice of Dance Technique, Kinesiology, Choreography, Conditioning for Personal Advancement and Rehabilitation, Production and Performance Directing.
She performed key roles with the Department of Dance, The Tallahassee Ballet, and performed as a guest artist with the Cairo Ballet. Such roles as Snow Queen, Dew Drop, Arabian and Lead Marzipan in the Nutcracker, Kitri from Don Quixote, Autumn Fairy in Cinderella, Balanchines Elegie and Valse Fantasie. Along with other classical repertoire such as Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Coppelia, Giselle, and La Bayadere.
Ms. Lose danced abroad in Europe and holds her certificate in the Pilates method of body conditioning.
